Our Prefect Department

At Victoria International School, our prefects are more than just rule enforcers — they are leaders, role models, and the heartbeat of student life. Chosen for their integrity, discipline, and leadership qualities, prefects represent the voice of the student body while upholding the school’s high standards.

One of the key responsibilities of our prefects is to ensure that a respectful, disciplined, and safe learning environment is maintained across the school. They assist in managing student behaviour, helping peers stay on track with the school’s expectations — from punctuality to personal conduct. Their presence on school grounds sets the tone for excellence and accountability.

The Prefect Department is not just about maintaining order; it’s about developing leaders. Prefects are given real responsibilities and are trained to lead with confidence and empathy. They regularly work alongside teachers and school administrators to support daily operations, events, and student
activities.

Our prefects are also the creative minds and hands behind many school-wide events that unite the community.
Their involvement includes:

Organizing Annual Teachers’ Day

A beloved tradition where prefects lead in planning, hosting, and celebrating our amazing educators.

Team Building Retreats

Special trips and camps designed to build teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills among prefects.

Hosting Assemblies and Cultural Events

Prefects lead assemblies and play central roles in organizing major events.

Welcoming New Students

Helping newcomers transition smoothly into school life with warmth and guidance.

Promoting School Initiatives

Whether it's awareness campaigns, charity drives, or academic competitions, prefects are always at the forefront.

A Platform for Growth

Being a prefect is a prestigious role that prepares students for life beyond school. Through their experiences, prefects gain invaluable skills such as public speaking, time management, problem solving, and decision-making. Most importantly, they learn the importance of servant leadership — leading not for power, but for the betterment of others.
